Questions

What people ask before they use this tool.

How does screen recording work?
Uses your browser's native Screen Capture API (getDisplayMedia) to record your screen. The recording stays in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
What can I record?
Your entire screen, a specific application window, or a browser tab. Choose when the recording prompt appears.
Does it record audio?
Yes — system audio and/or microphone can be included if your browser supports it. Chrome supports system audio from tabs.
What format is the output?
WebM video. Compatible with most video players and can be converted to MP4 using our Video Compress tool.
Is my recording uploaded?
No. Recording happens in your browser, and the video is not uploaded to our servers during capture.
Is there a time limit?
The tool does not add a product-side recording cap. Progress is shown via the elapsed timer, and recording size depends on your browser and available device storage. A 10-minute recording is typically 50-200MB.
Does it work on mobile?
Similar to Loom but no account or extension needed. Screen recording via browser is supported on desktop Chrome, Edge, and Firefox. Mobile browser support is limited.
Can I record a webcam overlay?
Not currently. This tool records the screen only. For webcam overlay, use OBS or similar desktop software.
Which browsers are supported?
Chrome, Edge, and Firefox on desktop. Safari has limited support. Chrome provides the best experience with system audio.
Can I pause during recording?
Yes. Use the Pause/Resume button during recording.
How do I stop recording?
Click the Stop button, or the browser's built-in "Stop sharing" button.
Can I convert the WebM to MP4?
Yes — use our Video Compress tool to convert WebM to MP4.
Is there a file size limit?
No — limited only by your device storage.
Is it free?
Yes. It runs in your browser and is free to use. See all Video Tools for related recording and conversion workflows.
Can I pay with crypto?
Video tools are free. AI writing tools accept crypto from $9.99/month.
